This depends on the history of the dental care. Obviously an initial set of x-rays are required to provide a baseline picture of the teeth. If a fair amount of treatment is carried out then 6monthly checks are advisable to compare demineralisation of enamel due to dietary inefficiencies or bone patterns where gum problems exist. If good oral hygiene is maintained and treatment is not required at the next recall visit then x-rays can be reduced to yearly then two yearly as appropriate.
